Earlier this year, I attended the Business Courier’s annual Mentoring Monday event. I had just landed a new job that I absolutely loved and self-published a children’s book, so I wasn’t sure what I was looking for, but I left with exactly what I needed. Kay Fittes was gracious enough to stay after all of the speed-mentoring sessions were over and I just had to meet her. We spoke for only a few moments, and I was so impressed with her ability to share my vision and answer my questions that I signed on as a client before ever seeing or hearing her deliver a speech. There is something to be said about trusting your gut. Coaching with Kay has been phenomenal. She doesn’t let you hide the things that hold you back – she makes you address them in the most loving way possible. Because we have walked through this together, I feel much more confident and capable of doing the things that once terrified me. I know I have a job to do – to inspire young women – and she has helped me get out of my own way. Kay has given me great tools to help me continue to move forward even after our time together. I have tools for presentation, tools for business, and tools for personal growth. I would tell anyone who was considering a coaching relationship to get started right away. Invest in yourself. You will not be sorry that you did.
